Poisson Modules and Generalized Geometry
Generalized complex structures were introduced as a common format for discussing both symplectic and complex manifolds, but the most interesting examples are hybrid objects – part symplectic and part complex. One such class of examples consists of holomorphic Poisson surfaces, but in [5],[6] Cavalcanti and Gualtieri also construct generalized complex 4-manifolds with similar features which are ...
متن کاملInstantons, Poisson structures and generalized Kähler geometry
Using the idea of a generalized Kähler structure, we construct bihermitian metrics on CP2 and CP1×CP1, and show that any such structure on a compact 4-manifold M defines one on the moduli space of anti-self-dual connections on a fixed principal bundle over M . We highlight the role of holomorphic Poisson structures in all these constructions.
متن کاملPoisson-generalized geometry and R-flux
We study a new kind of Courant algebroid on Poisson manifolds, which is a variant of the generalized tangent bundle in the sense that the roles of tangent and the cotangent bundle are exchanged. Its symmetry is a semidirect product of β-diffeomorphisms and βtransformations. It is a starting point of an alternative version of the generalized geometry based on the cotangent bundle, such as Dirac ...
متن کاملD-brane Actions, Intrinsic Geometry and Duality
We discuss an alternative form of the supersymmetric D-p-brane action which is quadratic in derivatives of X and linear in Fμν . This action involves an auxiliary worldvolume tensor and generalises the simplification of the Nambu-Goto action for p-branes using a symmetric metric. When the worldvolume gauge field is abelian, it appears as a Lagrange multiplier, and solving the constraint gives t...
متن کاملThe Geometry of D-Brane Superpotentials
The disk partition function of the open topological string computes the spacetime superpotential for D-branes wrapping cycles of a compact Calabi-Yau threefold. We use string duality to show that when appropriately formulated, the problem admits a natural geometrization in terms of a non-compact Calabi-Yau fourfold without D-branes. The duality relates the D-brane superpotential to a flux super...
